| What’s the difference between KTC Grading and KTC Lite? | The quick answer is in the grading scale. KTC Grading and KTC Lite both use a 10 point scale, but the highest grade available for a KTC Lite card is “Mint or Better”. The deeper answer is more complicated. KTC Grading is meant to differentiate cards at the upper end, increasing the rarity of the upper grades. KTC Lite cards do not have the differentiation on the upper end and are intended for those who want to get their cards graded on a more affordable basis. |
| Why do we not list turn around time? | Mostly because we’re just getting started. We also had an issue with our welder breaking down after testing it on just a few slabs! It’s taken longer to get KTC up and running than we’d have liked, but we’re (finally!) just starting to accept submission and have no idea what to expect as to the number of submissions we might receive! |
| How are final grades determined? | See our grading scale page for information on subgrades. Final grades are somewhat an average of the four subgrades, but more emphasis is placed on the front of the card. Final grades are determined in large part by the lowest of the four subgrades, and generally are not more than one level above the lowest subgrade. |
| Why are KTC Regular grading WITH subgrades and KTC Lite no longer offered? | In order to simplify the submission center, those services have been discontinued for the time being, although they might return as special offers at times. |
